Life Lately

I feel like Life has been fairly busy lately! Just when I think things are slowing down, we have another event coming up.

Two weekends ago I got to see lots of family!!
For the past few years my dads side of the family has managed to all get together in what started out as a weekend to celebrate my late grandmother "Nani."  She was the Matriarch of the family and is missed daily - I know she looks down on us and loves the fact that we take this time out to all be together.  This weekend has basically turned into our yearly family reunion. This year my "Poppy" and grandma Eve Anne were able to join in the fun and it was such a nice addition to have everyone together again.

We usually rent one large house and camp out there for the weekend (with the family growing through marriages and great grandkids making an appearance it makes it hard to actually get out of the house!)  Luckily for us we picked a location close enough to Santa Barbara that I didn't want to tear my hair out because the baby HATES long car rides.  We rented a large victorian style home in the mountains of San Louis Obispo.  Seeing as though we all live in California - LA to SF - this was actually a perfectly central spot to meet.

I love that my family is so close and look forward to this weekend every year.  Now if only I could organize my mom's side of the family (an even bigger group) to do one of these trips!
